Help a fellow kiteboarder in need after accident.....

http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2371781On Friday, August 12th, Theo Fusban was kiteboarding off the sandbar in Hood River when he hit his head hard on the shallow bottom. He was airlifted to OHSU in Portland. Surgeons worked for seven hours to repair a severely damaged C5 vertebrae. At this point, Theo still has not regained movement in his arms or legs.

Theo is a German exchange student staying with Cory and Terese Roessler and their sons, Levi and Trey, here in Hood River. He’s seventeen years old, full of life, an avid adventurer, and an amazing kite boarder.

The Hood River Fire Soccer Club (a member of the Dynamo organization) is going to have a “Dribbleathon” on Saturday, August 20th, at 10am at The Marina Green. The Fire players, 12 and 13 yo girls, will dribble a soccer ball for two miles in support of Theo.

They are asking for donations to help Theo’s family in this time of need. As one can imagine, these would be heavy emotional and financial hurdles for any family. They have flown in from Germany to be with Theo at the hospital.

Everyone is remaining positive. Praying & hoping Theo will wiggle a toe, move a finger, & feel a person’s touch.

Also if you know of any positive stories from similar injuries, please post them. He needs inspiration to stay strong.

We want to show our support as a community for this brave young man.

Please make checks out to ”Hood River Fire Soccer Club.”. Mail checks to

Check This Out Guys Perfect Solution For The Easterly Winds .......

Wakeboarding in Liverpool

Liverpool Docks is currently playing host to a System 2.0 Wake Park from 29th April to 8th May. It is all part of a big maritime festival called Spring On The Waterfront. Industry Wake Parks have installed the System 2.0 and are running the wake park for the 10 day limited period. The weather so far has been unreal with the sun burning strong and the water flat calm every day.

The System is setup over a 120 meter length of water and is over 10 meters high! This means that it is the perfect learning tool for air tricks. People have been learning rolls and raleys and all sorts with an extremely quick learning curve. James Hackney stuck a back mobe on his first try! If you have some experience of wakeboarding you will be able to learn a raley in an hour quite easily.

There is pro coaching from Dave Knight, Tim Woodhead and Toby Yeo and the wake park has been teaching a good mix of beginners and advanced riders. For the beginners it is a 100% pass rate so far.

Have a look at the pictures below to see the setup.
